Athlete of the Month
Congratulations to Caden Brester. Caden is a 7th grader at Rocky Heights Middle School. When Caden isn’t at school he enjoys football, scouts, biking, hiking, running and R/C cars. We asked Caen how Cody and Team Speed have made a difference in his training, he responded, “Cody has helped me focus on what I’m working on, has increased my endurance, my stamina, my coordination and has helped me develop strength.”
Because of the physical and mental strength Caden gained through working with Cody at Team Speed he was able to participate with Outward Bound. Outward Bound is the leading provider of experiential and outdoor education programs for youth and adults.
Caden’s adventure with Outward Bound was a 15-day experience where he hiked a total of 150 miles and camped along the way. He peaked La Plata during a 24 hour challenge where he didn’t sleep and continued to hike through the middle of the night. He was able to see the sunrise on the top of his first 14er. This experience was for personal survival skills, physical and emotional toughness, and gaining leadership skills, which was enhanced due to the training Caden had at Team Speed. Finally, we asked Caden what does he like most about Team Speed? He responded, “I can have a lot of fun at the same time working hard and doing my best to improve. Everyone at Team Speed encourages me and makes me feel good about what I’m doing.”
Great job, Caden! We can’t wait to hear about your next adventure!
