Ambassador Adi Walick Talks Goals for 2023

This year was a full year! I grew a lot as a person, student, and athlete. My Rapids team had a really good year, making it all the way to the ECNL National Final, sadly losing in the final. Similarly, my Rapids WPSL team also had a really good year and we made it all the way to the WPSL National Final, also sadly losing in the final. My commitment to the University of Michigan was a high point, and it has been awesome being able to watch my teammates commit to other colleges as well. It was a neat experience to watch some of my childhood closest friends and teammates plan the next 4 years of their lives. I will finish this spring as a junior and go into my senior year of high school. The Team Speed community helped me to achieve some of my physical goals from this past year and I enjoyed networking, attending the YANAM2M FitFest, and coming in every week to train. I got to see many new places and make some unforgettable memories this year. I spent lots of quality time with my younger sister, my family, and loved ones, and can not wait to see what 2023 holds!

My Goals for 2023

  • Continue to excel in school, keep good grades up, and learn more in all of my subjects
  • Continue to improve as a soccer player
  • Working on the speed of my decisions and actions, especially when attacking
  • Becoming a better defender as the game gets more physical as I get older
  • Continuing to build speed, and strength with Matt here at Team Speed, and become more powerful as the game gets more physically demanding
  • Have another good season and year with my Rapids team and WPSL team
  • Get back to another national championship for both and this time win!
